System and Network Engineer

Summary 

The System and Network Engineer will perform network and server administrative duties in small and medium business environments. The Network and Server Engineer is responsible for managing multiple priorities and following through on projects to their completion. We are looking for individuals who take great pride in the level and quality of their work and have great customer service skills. This includes – respect for all individuals, solid communication skills, strong critical and analytical thinking skills. As the Network/Server Engineer you will be responsible the overall infrastructure across multiple client domains. You will be part of a team that designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots client networks, servers, and workstations. Serve as a tier 3 escalation point for network tickets, as well as provide guidance for the help desk and junior members of the network team.

Formal Education & Certification

• Cisco CCNA certification preferred

• MCSE strongly preferred

Required Experience:

• Install, configure and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, wireless Access Points and firewalls * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues

• Ability to design solutions to meet clients’ needs and effectively articulate the solution to the client.

• Build/Maintain documentation, guides, and diagrams that can be utilized by all members of the IT department

• Configure, build, engineer networking solutions

• Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Windows Server 2008 and 2012

• Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2013/2016 as well as MS Office 365

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016

• Ability to troubleshoot multiple desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, 8, 10) and Applications

• Monitor and identify problems and resolutions * Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions

• Provide technical support and guidance to end users * Harden corporate network security and quickly close vulnerabilities found

• Thoroughly document network processes, procedures, and practices

• Experience working on multi-phased projects

• Strong communication skills; capable of explaining and documenting procedures in writing and verbally

• Experience implementing network services, including wireless access points, VPN, routers, switches, and firewalls

• Practical knowledge of networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, VLAN, NAT, DMVPN and routing protocols

• Understanding and design of network security, monitoring, and reporting

• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a part of a team

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
